Atomic

Atomic at Acorn Theatre

Why see Atomic?

A new musical from Sydney, Australia, Atomic is the untold story of top Hungarian physicist Leo Szilard and the Manhattan Project of the 1930s, and the international race to harness atomic power and create the bomb to end the war and beat Germany - 'The idea that shook the world'.

The show explores the weight of the world that rests on the shoulders of those making this discovery, the ethics, on the one hand strengthened by the atrocities of war, and laboured by the price of peace. Leo is tested by these professional and personal struggles, the form of his long suffering wife Trude, who's love is waning in the face of his dedication.

With 18 original songs, Atomic is a fresh, exhilarating look at a stark and controversial subject, and will leave audiences thinking deeply about the consequences of actions and how they effect everyone around us.
