The Laurie Berkner Band

The Laurie Berkner Band at NYCB Theatre at Westbury

Why see The Laurie Berkner Band?

The queen of children's music is back with a new album!

Famed for creating the Kindie Rock music genre for her young fans, Laurie Berkner is arguably the most popular and enduring leader of a children's music group ever to come out of the States. Joined by her trusted companions pianist Susie Lampert, bassist Brady Rymer and drummer Bob Golden, Berkner's newest musical tour follows the October release of their latest CD album Laurie Berkner's Favorite Classic Kids' Songs!

Laurie has also signed a three-book deal with Simon & Schuster's children's department to produce a trilogy of picture books with illustrator Ben Clanton, based on three of her most popular songs; We Are The Dinosaurs is due out in spring 2017, Pillowland for a fall 2017 release, and Monsters Boogie for the summer of 2018.

Formerly a kindergarten teacher and part-time indie rocker, Laurie decided in 1993 to combine these two skills to create her first child-oriented musical cassette Whaddaya Think of That from her living room, from her then-tiny record label Two Tomatoes. Soon toy shops and television stations were clamoring for more, especially after her appearance on The Today Show in 2001. Now 14 years and eight further award-winning albums later, it is easy to see why she is the leading children's musical artist in the business.
