If / Then

Why see If / Then?

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood...

Life throws so many chances in our way, how can we tell which path to take? That's the question at the heart of If/Then, a touching look at how the smallest decision could change us for ever. From the creative team that bought us the powerful Next to Normal, If/Then is a lighter show, but with a healthy dose of introspection and consequences. With Tony-Award winner Idina Menzel continuing to conquer as Elizabeth, you can already anticipate the tremendously uplifting power of this show that asks us to imagine something terrifying, the road less travelled by.

What is If/Then about?

If/Then is about starting over and the courage to fully explore life and the consequences of decisions.

Elizabeth has moved back to New York, nearing 40, she wants to start afresh and reboot her career as an urban planner. One day, following a peculiar experience in the park, she finds her future splitting into two: Liz and Beth.

Liz seeks out new experiences and soon finds love with the dashing army doctor Josh. But what happens when everything isn't quite happy ever after?

Beth takes a different approach, and the chaos of life affects her all at once, but then, how can we regret truly living?

If/Then reunites Idina Menzel with Anthony Rapp, her co-star from the 1996 seminal musical RENT.
