George Thorogood & The Destroyers

George Thorogood & The Destroyers at Tarrytown Music Hall

Why see George Thorogood & The Destroyers?

40 YEARS AND STILL 'BAD TO THE BONE'

George and his band have been bringing their bluesy grass-roots brand of rock and roll to their fans for 40 years, and to celebrate, have embarked on a mammoth US and Canada tour. They have released 16 albums during that time, with two that were certified Platinum, six certified Gold, and have sold fifteen million copies worldwide.

If you haven't heard of this band, then shame on you. But then, it's extremely likely that you know their eponymous single "Bad to the Bone", a sleazy, blues-ridden anthem that has bad-ass written all over it. In fact, it has been used in two highly popular movies; Terminator 2's opening bar scene (remember Arnie's immortal line, "I need your boots, your jacket.... and your motorcycle"?) as well in John Carpenter's horror movie Christine.

George credits the Rolling Stones and John Lennon as his influences, as well as for "keeping rock 'n' roll alive.
