Written by one of Britain's most in-demand and hardworking playwrights, James Graham's INK, a fictionalized account of the career of media mogul Rupert Murdoch, will be representing at this year's Tony ceremony on June 9. In the running for five awards including Best Play, Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play for Bertie Carvel (Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell) and Best Direction of a Play from Rupert Goold, let's hope their night is newsworthy!

What is INK about?

Giving the people what they want, not what they actually need to know. That became the defining tenet of both the now-defunct newspaper News Of The World, and its daily sister paper, The Sun. Formerly known prior to 1964 as the Daily Herald; it became a tabloid in 1969 after it was purchased by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. Graham's ruthless three-hour epic examines the rise of the tabloid phenomenon in arresting and dazzling style. A must-see for journalists and readers alike, this biting new play will throw new light on the news tycoon and his controversial practices.

INK is now showing through June 23 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre
