Starting tonight (December 11), Whoopi Goldberg joins the cast at the Theater at Madison Square Garden, sticking around for the holiday run until January 5, 2025. Catch her while you can in this heartwarming revival, directed by Jenn Thompson - who, fun fact, played Pepper in the original Broadway production when she was just 10 years old!
This beloved musical, which premiered on Broadway in 1977, is packed with heartwarming tunes by Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin. It follows optimistic red-headed Annie, an orphan who's all about finding family in unexpected places. It's no wonder it won seven Tonys, including Best Musical.
About Annie In New York
The musical kicked off in Chicago in November and stars 12-year-old Maryland superstar Hazel Vogel as the plucky orphan Annie. (Hazel was last seen in the North American tour of Les Misrables). Joining her are Christopher Swan as Oliver Warbucks, Julia Nicole Hunter as Grace, Mark Woodard as FDR, Rhett Guter as Rooster, and Isabella De Souza Moore as Lily St. Regis.
The role of Annie's loyal pup Sandy is played by Kevin, a sweet 7-year-old labradoodle from Georgia.
