Critics' opinions on Sam Gold's revival of The Glass Menagerie have been divided, but they do agree on one thing - and that is that this is a production of the Tennessee Williams classic like no other! From director Gold's casting to the set and lighting design by Andrew Lieberman and Adam Silverman respectively, the production veers from the artistic sensibilities of recent revivals and stands out in its raw, often bleak portrayal of the Wingfield family - the heart of which is Sally Field as a ""citric, unvarnished"" yet hugely compelling Amanda.
