What a Pleasure
To spend three hours with Bruce Hornsby and his band was pure music heaven. Thank you Bruce and your band for letting us goin you for this magical evening.
Hornsby Delivers
Bruce's incomparable gifts were on display last night as he masterfully guided us and his Noisemakers through his decades of musical contributions. With a boyish smile and whimsical affect throughout the night, in spite of a brief sophmorish effort by some of the audience members to engage in a political aside, Bruce would send a glance or lift a hand to one of his exceptionally talented Noisemakers and shift us all toward his next musical path. Generous with his compliments for all but much, and appropriately so for S.Carey who's band also delivered a mesmerizing performance, textured in subtle to rich blends of tonal and rhythmic tapestries. The sound mix missed an opportunity to match the performance quality with excessive bass levels, too little definition of the vocals and guitar. A must see show, these musicians are part of America's Treasure.
Worth Every Penny and More
What a great show!! Bruce Hornsby gave a tremendous performance and interacted with fans with an immpecable wit and presence. His chemistry with his band was so evident.....they truly appear to genuinely respect and love working together while playing extraordinary creative and beautiful music! A show to remember forever......please come back to the "Brew City" soon!!!!
Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers
There’s no denying the musical chops of Bruce and the band- exceptional musicians. Our issue was that apparently Bruce has an aversion to playing the songs (I.e. with the Range) that sells tickets. We were denied any of his legacy hits and the 2 songs that were supposedly “classic†were almost unrecognizable. In the end we felt cheated in that we didn’t hear anything we came for. If you are considering attending a Bruce concert - do your homework on what he’s playing these days. We didn’t and left very dissatisfied (along with most people in our section).
Two hours of my life I can’t take back…
Just left before the second part was over, as many others left this parody of a “concert†at San Luis Obispo…. None of the songs are recognizable… People that were coming with smiles and excitement were leaving at intermission and shortly after the second act (which was supposed to deliver many awaited and loved songs) visibly disappointed… I think it would be more appropriate to call this show “Come if care for eccentricityâ€â€¦ “Noisemakers†have a well deserved name. It is too bad there were no MUSIC makers on a stage….
Not the Bruce Hornsby I grew up listening too
If I'd have wanted to hear Vince Gualavaldi I would have bought tickets. I wanted to hear the songs I grew up listening too. I was so disappointed. He is a fabulous piano player but, what happened to all those hits??! I wanted to hear those.
