Great but…
It was hard driving love dancing type concert Saw them 16 yrs ago @ the Turning Stone Just awesome …great great great Art Park was not awesome , the long lines to get in , the few people working a gate , I felt sorry for people that got in after the concert started , just bad and wrong ,, never have I seen such a mess of getting into concert who over sold and did not have any idea of the crowd that size was showing up ,, chairs on sidewalks and everywhere that caused vendors and people just pure jams. Sad sad sad
Fabulous Fun!
I haven't seen EWF in years and I'm now sorry that I don't go to their show every time they're performing within driving distance! The are still a great band with beautiful sing along lyrics. Philip Bailey hasn't lost his amazing range and took me back to the 70s and 80s. The original 3 still have it! I know Maurice White is dancing in heaven with them! Pure soul, R&B and positive vibes were felt with a diverse crowd who danced and sang along for over an hour. I didn't want them to stop! Bravo!!
Awesome Gig from true Legends
The rescheduled event worked in our favor, arriving in New York on Saturday evening from Australia we didn't even know the gig was supposed to happen but on Monday when walking the NY sight we came across MSG and couldn't believe our luck. We were rewarded with amazing seating by the ticketing staff only an hour or so before show time. Earth Wind & Fire were truly, amazing just as good as they were back in the 80's these guys really are showmen and know how to get an audience excited. They transported me back in time and had every single person in the Garden on their feet and dancing. Just a shame that Lionel didn't live up to it, he managed to get through the show after apologising and giving excuses for missing the scheduled show but his performance was lack lustre only the genius of his band made it worth watching.
Fantastic!
Experience EWF while you still can!
Nostalgic
Loved the concert but mostly for the memories it brought back from having seen them in 1977 in Mpls. I have never seen tanglewood so crowded - including the lawn! Throngs of happy dancing people - had a great time even with only 3 of the original members there. Loved that the showed old footage on the screen behind them on stage - fun to remember 50 years ago. The light tribute to 'those we lost in the pandemic' was so touching - brought tears to my eyes.
Still got it!
This band is just as tight as the first time I saw them in thr 70’s and again, in 2003… 90 minutes of non-stop old school choreographed moves, Bailey’s falsetto is on point (and his son is singing with him), Verdine still crazy good and all over the stage, the horns and drums are fire… EWF is deserving of every accolade they've been given but they are really about LOVE! Love for what you do, who you are, and for one another. High energy, infectious, fun, but most of all, the ultimate professionals in a business filled with too many spoiled entertainers. These guys have seen it all and are still here, giving it all they got for another generation! Long live Earth, Wind and Fire!
