Just loved it.
Woke up humming the title song, a sure sign of the show's impact. Wildly imaginative story, brilliantly cast and performed with staging that will leave you thinking, hmmm, maybe taking LSD would be a great trip. A few show stopping moments that will make you want to see it more than once bGo f you can. You won't be disappointed.
Fresh look at the musical!
Fascinating integration of book, music, dance, design (scenic, lighting, sound) to create a new vision of the power of a musical. The use of dance --traditional steps and new percussive designs-- add layers to characterization. Technology aides exposition and interior motivations in completely innovative ways. Come to the play with an open mind and enjoy the flight! A most amazing production.
A truly incredible and provacative musical.
We saw the Wed preview and were absolutely blown away. The music is so gorgeous and so moving.. The performances were brilliant. The first act development of the characters was flawless. You cant wait for the second act to begin. If I lived in NY, I would have waited 2 more weeks to see it again before opening. Im not sure if the show will find its audience, but if not, it will still become a "cult" classic for those of us that really appreciate exciting and creative theater. I will buy the CD th day it is available and hope that I get to see the show one more time.
Musical with a message for our time
This is an innovative, thought provoking and thoroughly entertaining piece of theater! The lead actors and supporting cast pour their hearts and souls into every musical number! Particularly mesmerizing was the tap duet with Danny Gardner (understudying for Tony Yazbeck the day we went) and Atticus Ware in the first act-their dance number was invigorating! If you are looking for modern musical theater with a meaningful score, great vocals and choreography, performed by a perfectly cast ensemble of actors, see Flying Over Sunset!
Fun, Interesting Show, Wish Had Been Mote Tap Dancing in Show
Interesting and creatively scripted show ! I found it interesting especially in knowing that the actors and actresses portrayed real and some famous people experiencing the LSD world at that time in History. I wish though, that there had been a lot more tap dancing in the show as there was some tap dancing, but the tap dancing scene was what was used to advertise this Broadway show on social media. I think it depends on each member of the audience in what they were seeking to see in this Show. I liked the theatre and had a good seat.
Act 1 was flawless…wonderful acting, choreography, staging ,sets Had all the elements of a Great Broadway Show
ACT 2 was a disappointment..too wordy and too long
