Flew in From Seattle
I’ve seen Glen in Seattle 5x, Dublin once. First time with Swell Season. They obviously hadn’t had time to rehearse but it didn’t matter. I great show all around. Was a bit surprised all the jostling in the seats to go get drinks in the middle of concert. His interaction with audience was great as well.
Emotional, Energetic Magic
Anyone who was fortunate enough to be at Glen Hansard’s show at the Granada in Dallas was witness to true concert magic. I’ve been a fan of Mr. Hansard’s music for a long time and was excited about going to the show. I was expecting a low-key mellow evening; but, instead, he put on a show that was truly over the top in emotion, energy, and musical talent. Mellow it was not. Even the slow ballads were full of energy and sincerity. It was a concert that makes you love the artist even more. I’ve been playing and listening to every Glen Hansard song I can get my hands on. I even looked to see if, perhaps, I could fly to the next venue to watch him again. Mind-blowing show!!!
Glen rocked the state theater
4th time attending Glen’s show and never disappointed! Loved the new songs along with the old. Loved him at the State. Very intimate! Loved everything about this concert in particular for some reason. Only complaint is I’m too short! Always tend to get behind the woman with a big hat...this time it was a large blonde bun!! Think they should have booster seat options ;). Come back again soon, Glen. I’ll never not go!
Ok...concert's tonight so...
... I haven't yet seen the show, but this will be my fifth time seeing Glen live. I feel the need to come to his defense, as if he is going to travel around the world to perform his music for people, they should give him the respect that he deserves while he's performing. It cannot be easy being on the road all the time, and he can be forgiven for getting frustrated when somebody treats the experience like they're riding public transportation and not watching a musical performance. If the concert-goer was loud enough to be disruptive, they had to be quite loud, as Glen's sets are not known for being quiet. Hopefully, the lesson learned is that it's only common courtesy not to speak during a show. Not to mention that Glen is the best performer you will ever have the privilege to see. Personally, I wouldn't want to miss a minute of his ingenius performance.
Incredible performance at the Orpheum in Boston, Wild Willing Tour
To the people knocking Glenn for telling the audience to be quiet and listen... grow up? People paid good money to see him and I wish more bands chastised talkers. This show was incredible. Yes, very loud at times. I always bring earplugs. Volume was used as a dramatic accent to this performance with quiet sections that grew into great crescendos of sound and light with intense emotional outpouring from Glenn on stage. It was like being in a movie. I've never quite seen a show like it and it was worth every penny. I've been to two of his shows and they were both very different and incredible. Glenn was very careful not to be political during the show. Several times he stopped to explain a song and how it wasn't about anything going on currently and named no names. It's clear Glenn cares very much about the performance he gives and if you're the kind of person who likes his music and is considerate of others at such performances, you'll probably enjoy any of his shows.
Glen Hansard at the State Theatre Minneapolis
Beautiful performance, he said it was their first stop in North America for this tour (I think). Almost thought this was his home town on this side of the pond. The audience was very receptive and Glen and company reciprocated. Really wonderful experience!
