I saw the production of Don Giovanni last night with a friend and would definitely recommend it. The stage set is impressively simply yet multifunctional and we were delighted to see Placido Domingo as the Conductor. The story line keeps you captivated watching the antics of Don Giovanni and his often humorous and likable servant, Leporello. I kept thinking Don Giovanni would change his ways but it the end, dramatically, even given a last chance, he refuses to repent and he gets what he deserves in a fiery end. The music is beautiful and the performers move and sing eloquently. Mariusz as Don Giovanni and Erwin as Leporello are the dark and light of the production with the remaining cast artfully filling in the story making this Opera fun to watch. We went to Tavern on the Green for a light bite before. The staff was very friendly and our waiter accommodated our limited time without rushing us.
