La Rondine at the Metropolitan Opera, Wednesday, March 26th
Congratulations to Jonathan Tetelman on a most welcome and auspicious debut at The Metropolitan Opera tonight in Puccini's La Rondine. He couldn't have been in better voice. Using all the colors of his voice including his ringing tenor high notes to perfect advantage, he was a delightful addition to the Met's roster, and I hope we'll be hearing a LOT more of him there and very soon. Possessing matinee idol looks, he is dashing and natural on stage, charming and consummately musical--always serving the dynamism of the music. Bravo and kudos. Excellent Italian female conductor, Speranza Scappucci. And the Met Orchestra played beautifully as always.
