UH-MAZING!
Shakira sang most of her best hits with hardly any breaks at all for 2 hours straight with amazing dance moves and vocals. She brought our Wyclef Jean for "Hips Don't Lie" which was amazing. Too bad a lot if her recent features are currently on tour themselves also but tbh she was a show all on her own. She did it all on her own with no big props or any dancers and it was still again, Amazing! Congrats to her on a 20+ year career.
Creative Production
She sang a great mix of new and old with some surprising remix of the latter. The production was a typical big venue vibe but with a minimal band. The crowd was a great mix of young and old very loyal fans, and was a blast to be apart of. We arrived early (6:30) to beat the crowds, which was perfect, but this had a serious drawback. Everyone else arrived late. We waited for over two hours for the concert to begin. Over... Two... Hours... Not a great way to start in LA. We enjoyed ourselves immensely, but wished the show started on time. She put on some great moves dancing and did seem to enjoy herself, but did seem to struggle with singing to her true potential while doing so. Its a trade-off "shrugg." Overall we had a good time seeing a favorite artist, and would go again.
Very disappointed
Sound was terrible. Shakira was using playback throughout the show. For herself as well as for people who sing with her but who were not on the stage but appears in the screen behind her. Felt like watching YouTube as it was obvious that she only danced when the playback was running. Was expecting to see a world class singer and got an amateur’s performance, who used playback instead of singing and did not bother to bring the people that sing with her on the screen with her to the show
Unprofessionalism from a Great Artist
Do you expect to see an amazing artist, who is not just able to sing uniquely, but also dance amazingly? Do not expect to receive that once you enter a Shakira concert. The artist's well known stage energy was absent at all times and failed to keep the crowd on their feet and entertained at all times. She was saved by her several late hits, like "Loca", or her new hit "Chantaje", to which she had to show tiny walking Maluma on the screen, once his part came. Her occasional dance moves could only pass for the club. The sound was not amazing either. At times one could hear the instruments better than her. The lack of professionalism was seen the second she stepped out on stage in leggings, a shirt, and a lasting tired face, which showed a rare forced smile. There was a break after each song and she fancied several costume changes that took too long- she was not able to get back on stage in time after the videos ended. This is not the worth the 2 hour wait or money.
great dancer but lip synching was the star of the show
Saw her eight years ago and it was all about the music. This show was all about dancing and getting a paycheck. The sound was terrible and the band was for display purposes only. We sat up close and you could really see that it wasn't her best effort. Great moves for a dance club but we really wanted to hear her voice.
