As a fan of all things British including their theatre, history and, yes, even the monarchy, I LOVE this play which I first saw in London in May 2013 and recently saw again during opening night. First of all, Dame Helen NEVER leaves the stage and every minute with her is interesting. If you go for no other reason than to watch the remarkable Helen Mirren transform through the decades, you will not be disappointed. Amazed perhaps. I vividly recall watching the Queen's coronation and the history that unfolds on the stage through her "audiences" with nine PM's is my history as well. The most jarring to me was the addition of an audience with Tony Blair and the Iraq conflict and the Queen's comment regarding the nature of war. Riveting. The fine British actor Richard McCabe plays Harold Wilson and there seems to be genuine affection between the Queen and Wilson. In true British theatre fashion, this a is a polished production with plenty to keep the mind busy and engaged. Enjoy!

Excellent production. Very entertaining and a bit of a history lesson for the younger generation. Helen Mirren was wonderful.
