Why see Glengarry Glen Ross?

May the best man win...

2025 is shaping up to be a bumper year for screen actors making their Broadway debuts as this starry revival of David Mamet's Pulitzer Prize-winning play joins the roster, with both Bill Burr and Bob Odenkirk making their stage bows alongside Succession's Kieran Culkin.

Directed by the Tony-winning Patrick Marber (Leopoldstadt), this much-anticipated revival marks the classic play's third Broadway outing since its premiere in 1984 - the very production that lured a young Marber into his career! He explained the upcoming project: "The play blew my young soul away. It was one of the reasons I wanted to work in theatre. Forty years later, I am so thrilled to be directing it on Broadway with these incredible actors. I will do my utmost to ensure that this great American play brings audiences the same great pleasures it brought to me."

What Is The Story of Glengarry Glenn Ross?

Welcome to a vicious struggle for dominion and money as played out in a Chicago Real Estate office. Key to flipping undesirable property are the agent's propensity to lie, steal, and cheat their customers as they pursue power, riches and the American Dream at the expense of morality and legality. Darkly comic and as profanity-laden as you'd expect from Mamet, we learn just how much one can comprise their soul for victory over others.

Where Have I Seen Them Before?

Audiences will recognize Kieran Culkin from his recent role of Roman Roy in Succession (HBO) and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World with Michael Cera.

Emmy winner Bob Odenkirk has worked steadily on our screens and behind the scenes since the late 80s, with his roles in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul (both AMC) launching him to mainstream success.

Comedy great and Grammy winner Bill Burr has had plenty of acting roles in the past few years, with appearances in The Mandalorian (Disney +), Old Dads and more.

an evening well spent

Al Pacino was... Al Pacino- he gave a solid performance, and of course it's simply fun to see him on stage; but Bobby Cannavale as Ricky Roma was the star last night. He held the play together, kept the energy up, and pulled all the characters into one story. As a whole the play is well worth seeing, an evening well spent. ... Read more
