Why see Pass Over?

Broadway Debut

Antoinette Chinonye Nwandu's award-winning play Pass Over is heading to Broadway for a limited engagement, directed by Obie Award winner Danya Taymor. This masterful piece will mark both Taymor's and Nwandu's Broadway debut.

The uniqueness of Pass Over is that Nwandu is keeping it with the current times, the endings change depending on the current state of our world. In 2017 the play shone a light on the current election and politics, 2018 saw condemnation against Black people and this time around will revolve around the continuation of violence towards Black people in the United States and the global pandemic.

What is Pass Over about?

Moses and Kitch are two young men looking for a way out, they use talking as a way to pass time in hope that today will be different from the rest of their boring days. As they begin to dream of their new land, a stranger wanders in and disrupts them. A story of hope, heartbreak and joy, Pass Over takes the every day and crafts it into a poetic riff, illuminating humanity and its questionable actions.
