The Addams Family

The Addams Family at Lunt Fontanne Theater

Why see The Addams Family?

As the musical begins, there are storm clouds gathering over the Addams Family home. Wednesday is falling in love, young Pugsley, jealous of his sister's attention, begs her to keep torturing him severely, while mother Morticia, fears being upstaged and discarded by her daughter's lurch into womanhood... like yesterday's roadkill.

But when outsiders come to dinner, the events of one night will change forever this famously macabre family - a family so very different from your own - or maybe not.

Fantastic

We saw this last night (March 8th) what a show. Nathan Lane is fantastic as Gomez. Seeing Bebe Neuwirth in her Morticia outfit is worth the price of two tickets alone but besides being beautiful she sings and dances like you could never imagine Lilith could ever do. The rest of the cast did a fine job as well and the set is amazing. The story idea was good but a bit odd but it is the Addams Family and they make a good fit. This is a must see as long as Bebe Neuwirth and Nathan Lane remain the lead actors. Uncle Fester, Wednesday, Pugsley , Grandmama and Lurch all had actors who played them very strongly and where a good fit bringing the Addams Family together. Thing and Cousin It also made appearances. ... Read more

The Definition Of Entertainment

My wife and I were privileged enough to be at the Thursday March 11th performance. As a late bloomer to the theatre scene, of course one of my necessary quests is to see Nathan Lane in ANYTHING, but to have him star in the cast of my favorite boyhood TV show was overwhelming. The entire cast was brilliant, the songs ripe and humorous. And BeBe as Morticia rekindled those old feelings I once had for Carolyn Jones..she is a show stealer. I must also add that the audience was a major part of the excitement. It was the best audience I have ever been in-everyone shared it all together. The chemistry of the actors feeding off the crowd and the crowd digging the play was wonderful. There was a standing ovation for them at the end. Sure it was a compliment, but it just seemed necessary as repayment for the enjoyment they had just provided. ... Read more
