For 12 years, the world has been waiting with bated breath for the next masterpiece from Simon Grindberg (Dan Lauria), the famously reclusive genius behind some of the most beloved titles in Children's literature. Convinced the time has come to get him out of his funk, his editor Claire (Carolyn McCormick) sends help in the form of Peter Chandler (Rupak Ginn), a fellow author and illustrator whose reverence for Simon has seen him follow in his footsteps. But can Peter's youth and zeal revive Simon's ailing creativity, and if it does, will there be any way to stop the wild world inside his head from consuming them both?
Shem Bitterman's new play takes us right to the heart of the writer's imagination with this compelling and touching production from the Berkshire Theatre Group. Coupled with exquisite illustrations and projections from Yael Pardess and Rasean Davonte Johnson, Bitterman serves us with an intriguing look at one's subconscious, and the quiet dangers that lurk there.
