The Perfect Mother's Day Shows In New York

Mothers deserve the world, and what better way to show our appreciation than by letting the story speak for itself? Whether you lean on your mom's shoulder during My Eye's Adored You' or hold her hand during Popular', nothing says you're the best than the universal love language of theatre!

Beautiful: Carole King Musical | Paper Mill Playhouse | June 5 - 30, 2024

Tracing the career of Carole King, and endorsed by the beloved Grammy winner herself, Beautiful was the feel-good Broadway hit of 2014, scoring two Tony Awards. Described by The New York Times as "A complex, revitalizing portrait of the real, conflicted person within the reluctant star", Beautiful: The Carole King Musical is an inspiring story about the rocky road to superstardom! Featuring songs from her back catalog, as a solo artist and co-writer, Beautiful revisits "Uptown," "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman," "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" and "You've Got a Friend" amongst many more, this is the ideal treat for mothers day!

Jersey Boys | Paper Mill Playhouse | Oct 2 - Nov 3, 2024

A modern Broadway classic, Jersey Boys ushered in a new era of Jukebox musicals but few of the shows that followed could match its gritty story, cool characters, and dazzling songbook. It tells the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, four working-class guys from the wrong side of the tracks who went on to dominate the American charts in the 1950s and 60s.

Charting the group's sometimes rock road to fame, this endlessly entertaining rags-to-riches story features some of the greatest hits in the history of pop, including 'Big Girls Don't Cry', 'Working My Way Back to You', 'Can't Take My Eyes off You', and 'December 1963 (Oh, What a Night)'.

West Side Story | Hackensack Meridian Health Centre | July 26 - 28, 2024

In 1957, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, and Jerome Robbins solidified their musical theatre legend status when the dazzling West Side Story leaped onto Broadway. Fusing mounting tensions of artfully danced street warfare and an arresting Rome-and-Juliet-esque romance, the all-singing, all-dancing spectacular went on to become one of the greatest musicals ever to grace the Great White Way and the world over. Known worldwide for its incredible songs and cultural impact, there is no better way to celebrate!

A Wonderful World | Studio 54 | Opens Oct 16

A Wonderful World, a musical about the life, times, and music of jazz legend Louis Armstrong will make its Broadway debut this fall, starring Tony Award winner James Monroe Iglehart as the lauded trumpeteer. Featuring some of Armstrong's most iconic songs, the production has an original book by This Is Us screenwriter Aurin Squire and direction from Tony nominee Christopher Renshaw.

With celebrated engagements in Miami, New Orleans and Chicago, A Wonderful World pays tribute to Armstrony's legacy and includes some of his most famous tunes: 'I Can't Give You Anything But Love', 'What a Wonderful World', and 'When You're Smiling'.

Wicked | Gershwin Theater | Open Run

One of modern theater's biggest hits, Wicked has now grossed over $1 billion at the Broadway box office, and its various productions have been seen by over 50 million people worldwide. It's not hard to see why, with Stephen Schwartz's now-iconic songs ('Defying Gravity', 'Popular' and 'As Long As You're Mine') providing the perfect soundtrack to this exuberant tale of teenage love, friendship, and magic. Plus, who doesn't want to take another trip into the wonderful land of Oz?

Merrily We Roll Along | Hudson Theatre | Until July 7, 2024

The highly acclaimed Off-Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth's Merry We Roll is finally back on Broadway. Starring Tony-nominee Jonathan Groff, Tony winner Lindsay Mendez, and screen and stage star Daniel Radcliffe. The story of friendships put through the show business ringer, Merrily Roll Along boasts a tricksy, non-linear narrative and some of Sondheim's most playful numbers, including 'Rich and Happy,' and 'Franklin Shepard, Inc'.

Illinoise | St James Theater | Until August 10, 2024

Your time has come to hunt for UFOs and hide from the Night Zombies as Justin Peck and Jackie Sibblies Drury's musical Illinoise transfers from Chicago's Shakespeare Theatre to Broadway! A brand new show, nominated for Tony Best New Musical', was inspired by Sufjan Steven's 2005 concept album Illinoise, which to no one's surprise is about the state of Illinois.

This genre-bending work covering everything from serial killers to the first superhero actor to civil war graves inspired Tony Winner Peck and Pulitzer Prize winner Drury to create a theatrical spectacle that includes singers, dancers, and a live band.

Cabaret - August Wilson Theatre - Open Run

In here, life is beautiful! Performed in purpose-built new space at the August Wilson Theatre, this fabulous revival of the Kander and Ebb favorite recently broke records during its London run, having been awarded seven Olivier awards, including Best Musical Revival. With Eddie Redmayne reprising his role as the sinister Emcee opposite Gayle Rankin as Sally Bowles and musical theatre royalty Bebe Neuwirth as Fraulein Schneider, this exciting new staging of the iconic musical is one hot ticket!

With these shows, you'll honor your favorite woman while creating treasured memories that'll last a lifetime. After all, there's no better story than one of love and gratitude, and no one better to share it with than Mom!
