Broadway's 'Doubt' Extends Run
The Roundabout Theatre Company revival officially opens on March 7
The production of 'Doubt' first began previews on February 3 and is set to officially open on March 7. The show has announced an extra week added to the limited engagement, making the new closure date April 21 at the Todd Haimes Theatre.
This searing drama won the Pulitzer Prize in 2005 after winning four Tony Awards, including Best Play, for its original Broadway run at the Walter Kerr Theatre in 2005. Later made into an Oscar-nominated film starring Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman, Shanley's story resonates to this day as it explores the division that can come from deeply held beliefs and the unwillingness to entertain another point of view.
What is it about?
The Roundabout Theatre Company revival stars Tyne Daly and Liev Schreiber as a nun and priest working together at an all-boys Catholic School in the Bronx. Doubt: A Parable is a riveting meditation on uncertainty in the face of prejudice that follows when liberal-minded Father Flynn (Schreiber) is suspected of wrongdoing by his strict conservative colleague, Sister Aloysius (Daly).
