1984 - here's what we thought!

Chilling and unforgettable, Orsen's novel is still as relevant
Chilling and unforgettable, Orsen's novel still speaks to us just as much now as it did then - perhaps even more so! Our Broadway reviewer say 1984 recently and found this new production packs a punch in all the right places, making it one production that is certainly NOT for the faint-of-heart.""
""This is a difficult show to sit through, it is dark and ominous and it would be easier to see a happy musical. But easy never changed the world,"" wrote Nicola, who found Olivia Wilde as Julia and Tom Sturridge as Winston to be giving their roles their all, quite literally! ""Olivia Wilde makes her Broadway debut as Julia from George Orwell's adaptation of 1984 and lands with a bang, literally! During the previews Wilde broke her tailbone and has suffered other injuries such as a split lip and a fractured rib.""
It seems this is one Broadway production that is as taxing for the cast as it can be in parts for the audience, such as the torture scenes which are accompanied by jarring lighting and sound effects with lighting and sound, designed to make you feel on edge in Orson's unpredictable and bleak world. So much more than a narrative, this is art brought to live on stage with a very clear message for all its viewers.
