The Black Keys & Cage The Elephant
A garage rock match made in heaven
Why see The Black Keys & Cage The Elephant?
Last year's Melophobia was widely hailed as a major step up for Cage the Elephant, a successful melding of all the disparate garage and psych influences which had been bubbling away on their first two records. Featuring Come a Little Closer, it gained the Kentucky band a swathe of new followers, and its success has landed them a supporting slot on The Black Keys mammoth 2014 Tour.
Comprised of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, The Black Keys are currently scaling heights of popularity that few, including the blues rock duo themselves, thought possible five years ago. With Dangermouse at the production controls, this year's Turn Blue looks set to continue the ascendency begun by 2011's El Camino.
