Ethel Sings: The Unsung Song of Ethel Rosenberg

Ethel Sings: The Unsung Song of Ethel Rosenberg at Beckett Theatre

Why see Ethel Sings: The Unsung Song of Ethel Rosenberg?

Ethel Sings offers a dramatic look at the story of Ethel Rosenberg - an actress, singer, and victim of the Red Scare hysteria of the late 1940s. Ethel and her husband, Julius, were both charged with spying for Russia and assisting in their development of the nuclear bomb. They were executed in 1953.

This moving play tells the story of a mother and wife whose devotion ultimately sentenced her to death. Though she was not as active in the Communist struggle within the USA as her husband was, her love for him brought her down alongside him and smeared her reputation forever more. Ethel Sings strives to redeem her, and show through music, how redemption is something it's never too late to seek.
