Chicago Symphony Orchestra

Chicago Symphony Orchestra at Isaac Stern Auditorium

Why see Chicago Symphony Orchestra?

Chicago's leading orchestra returns

Carnegie Hall's 2017/18 season welcomes back the visiting Chicago Symphony Orchestra for a beautifully nature-themed evening of music. Riccardo Muti conducts proceedings, which features four pieces of enchanting music, including a NYC premiere by Jennifer Higdon. In addition, a host of special musical guests will join the Symphony for this four-part programme.

The evening begins with Stravinsky's Scherzo fantastique, based on the movement of bees, followed by Higdon's Low Brass Concerto, performed in NY for the first time; Chausson's Poeme de l' amour et de la mer will focus on the sea, as does the concluding piece, Britten's Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes.
