Celebrate 35 Years Of The Pops With Honoree Alan Menken

For 35 years, The New York Pops has celebrated the diversity of popular music's constantly evolving song book, leading vibrant programmes of groundbreaking new works, leaving no musical stone unturned from the worlds of Broadway, film, jazz, rock, pop and beyond. Celebrate the independent orchestra's 35th birthday in the company of special guest and honoree Alan Menken.

The musical mastermind behind many beloved stage and screen classics, eight-time Academy Award-Winner Menken has penned the scores for film crossovers Beauty and The Beast, Aladdin and The Hunchback of Notre Dame amongst others. Pops music director Steven Reineke will lead the ensemble and a host of guest artists including Michael Arden, Harvey Fierstein, Ashkey Brown and Jodi Benson through a program of the composer's best loved works. All proceeds benefit the orchestra and its PopsEd music education initiatives.
