Why see Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra?

The Royal Concertgebouw Performs Bruckner & Bruch

Heralded as one of the world's leading orchestras, The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra have awed critics and classical music fans with their resonant tone and polished instrumental sections. The Netherlands symphony ensemble travels forth from their home city of Amsterdam to perform two special programmes at NYC's historic Carnegie Hall this winter.

On Wednesday January 17th the RCO will perform the works of Wagner and Bruckner, beginning the evening with Parsifal, Wagner's triumphant last opera and closing the programme with Bruckner's last great musical torso Symphony No. 9. On Thursday January 18th the orchestra will be joined by virtuosic violinist Janine Jansen for a performance of the Bruch's great Romantic era Violin Concerto No. 1, as well as Mahler Symphony No. 1. RCO chief conductor Daniele Gatti conducts both evenings.
