Stand-up comedian and Daily Show correspondent Hasan Minhaj makes his theatrical debut in his new solo show Homecoming King. Detailing his experiences as a first generation American Indian, Homecoming King deftly picks apart issues of racism and identity, and just what it means to be part of the 'New Brown America'.
The show sprung from the success of Hassan's Moth podcast segment 'Prom', released last year, which detailed his struggles to find a prom date as the only Indian-American at his school. Together with collaborator Greg Walloch, who directs this production, he further refined the show through Sundance Institute's New Fronter Story Lab.
Emerging as a stand up comedian in the late 00s San Francisco, Hasan moved to LA, where he landed supporting roles in ABC's State of Georgia, Chelsea Lately and Arrested Development. In 2013 he fronted MTV's internet clip show Failosophy, and was then chosen by Jon Stewart as his last new Daily Show correspondent. Hasan is continuing as the show's 'Senior Indian Correspondent' under new host Trevor Noah.
