Keen Company's 2014/15 season opens with the first New York revival of Lee Blessing's A Walk in the Woods. Based on the real life Cold War negotiations of 1982, the play centers on a Soviet and an American diplomat who are trying to hammer out an arms limitation agreement. Amid a period of deadlock, they leave their aides behind for an informal 'walk in the woods', a relaxed stroll which forms a bond of mutual respect and understanding between the two.
A witty, intelligent two-hander, A Walk in the Woods was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 1987 and has starred the likes of Alec Guinness and Sam Waterston in past incarnations. This 2014 production boasts the Drama Desk Award winning Kathleen Chalfant (Wit, House of Cards) and Paul Niebanck as the two leads.
