New York Philharmonic - Amadeus Live

New York Philharmonic - Amadeus Live at David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center

Why see New York Philharmonic - Amadeus Live?

Possibly the most perfect movie to get a concert!

Continuing in the hugely popular trend of movies in concerts, the multi-Academy Award-winning 1984 movie starring Tom Hulce heads out in 2018 across the USA on a national tour! Taking in the big cities, the concert experience will join forces with the country's biggest and most eminent symphony orchestras as they play the glorious soundtrack live, with the movie played on a huge HD above the stage. Putting drama, tragedy and of course, the exquisite score at the center of proceedings, experience the classic movie and magic of Mozart as you've never done before.

Adapted from Peter Schaffer's 1979 play in London, which starred starred Paul Scofield as Salieri and a very young Simon Callow as Mozart, the action takes place in period Vienna where the aging Antonio Salieri (F.Murray Abraham) is court composer to the capricious emperor. Looking back on his younger self, he remembers the all-consuming jealousy he felt when the prodigious Mozart arrived on the scene. Forced to admit that his own work next to the newcomer's looked below par, we follow his agony as he plots the downfall of his rival over the composition of the Requiem Mass, for which he takes credit. But did he actually kill the young genius?
