Why see Yuja Wang?

Piano Recital

A player of peerless speed and insight, Yuja Wang is one of the finest pianists alive today. Born in Beijing, she began piano lessons at the age of six and was instantly enthralled by the instrument. Completing her formal education at the Curtis Institute for Music in Philadelphia, it wasn't long before she was performing with likes of Gustavo Dudamel and et al. Of her performance of notoriously tricky Beethoven's Hammerklavier Sonata in 2016, the New York Times wrote: "Ms. Wang's virtuosity goes well beyond uncanny facility."

These select number of North American dates will see Ms. Wang playing works from all the great composers! Don't miss this stunning act of talent when it comes to a city near you.

Ms Wang came to please with a repertory of the flashiest, dynamic, loud and jaw dropping program and encore pieces. The last, the conclusion of the Rachmaninoff 2nd Concerto as an encore which seemed to have her playing both piano and orchestra parts was truly memorable. ... Read more

Yuja unappreciated by OC crowd

Miss Wang’s performance Tuesday night at Disney was amazing. Last night at Segerstrom was less so I think because the orange county crowd went there to see her sexy outfits and pyrotechnic piano playing. They did not understand (accept) Yuja’s mellower program of lesser known pieces. Let’s allow some diversity and experimentation. I loved it! ... Read more

Yuji Wang--piano

Loved her performance! Just might be the high point of my year! Discovered a wonderful sushi restaurant just across the street pre-show. Was on the back row, auditorium-seating. Wish I had opera glasses. I asked if they had any available/for rent, which they did not. ... Read more
