American Ballet Theatre - Mixed Repertory

American Ballet Theatre - Mixed Repertory at David H Koch Theater

Why see American Ballet Theatre - Mixed Repertory?

Part of a mixed repertory, this program includes the 2003 revival version of Frederick Ashton's work returns to New York! First staged at the world-famous Sadlers Well's Theatre in London in 1946, it was originally danced by some of ballet's most famous dancers; namely Margot Fonteyn, Pamela May and Moira Shearer. Based on ancient Greece, this radiant classical showpiece is perfomed by six dancers.

Widely regarded as one of Ashton's finest works,it is one of the more challenging pieces of the ballet repertory, with grace demanded for the most difficult footwork; the dancers move seamlessly between quartets, duets, sextets and solos.

The other works in this program are as follows:

Thirteen Diversions, Serenade after Plato's Symposium, Other Dances, Souvenir d'un lieu cher, Millepied World Premiere
Her Notes, Lang World Premiere, Ratmansky World Premiere Daphnis and Chloe, and Elegy pas de deux.
