With their historic home venue currently under construction, the world renowned Hungarian State Opera embarks on a historic tour of US shores, bringing the music of their homeland to New York City's Lincoln Center for a strictly limited run this Fall. The 134 year old company debuts a vibrant program of ballet and opera works, including the US premieres of Ferenc Erkel's Bank Ban and Janos Vajda's one-act opera Mario and the Magician.

112 years since it was last performed by the Metropolitan Opera in the Big Apple, the Hungarian State Opera presents The Queen of Sheba, an operatic staple of the company's repertory by the Hungarian-born Viennese composer Karl Goldmark. Scaleing the heights of orchestral passion and vocal spectacle, the story follows the exotic Queen of Sheba and her visit to the court of the King Soloman, where a love triangle of biblical proportions unfolds...
