The sacrifices we make in pursuit of dreams
Small is a raw and riveting autobiographical look into the life of Robert Montano, tracing his journey through a challenging childhood to the adrenaline-fueled but oft-misunderstood world of horse racing and beyond. Directed by Jessi D. Hill, Small reflects on the pressures, pitfalls, and personal sacrifices that come with the relentless pursuit of dreams.
In a world where to be "small" is the goal for a jockey, Montano confronts the toll this wish took on mind and body, with identity and addiction playing no small part along the rocky ride. Eventually pivoting from the race track to the dance floor with a new dream to become a professional dancer, Montano's is one of grit, following a young man determined to carve out his own path, regardless of the obstacles.
