Smash, A New Musical

Smash, A New Musical at Imperial Theater

Why see Smash, A New Musical?

Let Me Be Your Star

Hold onto your Playbills, a brand new musical is set to light up Broadway in 2024/25 and it's based on the cult hit series Smash! The brand new tuner reunites the writing duo behind the TV show's razzle-dazzle numbers, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. The pair's beloved songs garnered an Emmy nomination for the memorable tune "Let Me Be Your Star".  With direction from Susan Stroman and choreography from Joshua Bergasse, the production will star Robyn Hurder as Ivy and Caroline Bowman as Karen, the two actresses vying for the coveted role of Marylin in the musical's musical within a musical.

There's nothing more exciting in New York than a Broadway show on opening night. Other than the journey it takes to get there of course. Shining the spotlight on the drama behind the scenes, Smash follows the genesis of a new show based on the life of the Blonde Bombshell herself, Marilyn Monroe. Taken from the shortlived but beloved NBC show by Therese Rebeck, Smash's journey to the stage has been long, but will surely delight fans when the drama begins!
