On a Clear Day You Can See Forever

On a Clear Day You Can See Forever at Irish Repertory Theater

Why see On a Clear Day You Can See Forever?

Hurry, it's lovely up here!

Irish Repertory Theatre reincarnates Lane and Lerner's springy romantic comedy about a seemingly ordinary woman who recounts her wild past life as a British society girl whilst undergoing hypnotism to give up a smoking habit to help her stuffy fiance's job prospects. With Melissa Errico and Stephen Bogardus, this anachronistic musical fable about self-discovery makes a very welcome stage return after its last foray in New York in 2011.

First premiering on the Great White Way in 1965 with a lauded film adaptation following in 1970, On a Clear Day... follows Daisy Gamble, a quiet and quirk woman besieged by low self esteem, yet able to make flowers grow with her voice and predict who'll be calling on the telephone. When she heads to hypnotherapy to give up smoking and appease her fiance Warren, she and her psychologist Dr. Mark Bruckner are surprised to discover a remarkable hidden world right under their noses.
