The hit comedy comes to the broadway
Josefina Lopez's hit coming-of-age comedy comes to the James Earl Jones Theatre this April in musical form. When one woman's desire to challenge the norm affects her family business, she unbeknownst changes the course of Corporate America...
In 80's East Los Angeles Ana has just graduated high school, full of bright ideas and big dreams of becoming a writer, Ana wants to change the status quo. However, her wishes raise alarm amongst the members of her family's small factory. As tempers flare and the fear of deportation looms the women discuss life, love, and size as they forge the path for change.
In 2002 the play was adapted into a film of the same name, with America Ferrera (Ugly Betty) playing the role of Anna!
