Why see Oh Mary!?

Mary Mary Quite Contrary

Now On Broadway!

After delighting audiences at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, Cole Escola's brand new play is coming to Broadway! Oh Mary! Is a dark comedy, with Escola playing former United States first lady Mary Todd Lincoln, whilst they break down her life from the inside, and in Escola's own words, through the lens of an idiot. Tony Award nominee Sam Pinkleton directs, and Escola is joined by Lucille Lortel nominee Conrad Ricamora and James Scully, among others. Don't miss out on this exciting and hilarious chance to see the First Lady as you've never seen her!

What Is The Story?

In early 1865, Abraham Lincoln was swiftly and unknowingly approaching the end of his life. During this time, we see Mary, his  "foul and hateful wife" stifled and unhappy, dealing with a life that wasn't what she intended as she works her way through her lifelong desires and unfulfilled dreams. In this raucous five-star comedic tour-de-force, we see Mary launch herself into the world of theatre with aplomb, leading to a fantastically ridiculous finale as silly as Lincoln himself was serious!
