Circus 1903 - The Golden Age of Circus

Why see Circus 1903 - The Golden Age of Circus?

Roll Up Roll Up!

Step back in time to the golden age of the circus with this mind-blowing new spectacular! Touring China and Europe before arriving in North America in 2017, Circus 1903 resurrects the Big Top to its former glory, packing the ring with acrobats, jugglers, clowns and a wondrous, life size puppet of an African Elephant. All of the performers are dressed in the finest retro costumes and presiding over proceedings is a mustachioed ringmaster with a top hat and a mischievous glint in his eye.

Circus 1903 is a collaboration between the producers of the world's best-selling touring magic show The Illusionists, and Significant Objects, the company which created the puppets for theatrical smash War Horse.

What to expect

The finest circus performers from across the globe will thrill you with daring acts of death-defying bravery, but Circus 1903 isn't just a roll-call of incredible acts - it's a full theatrical experience! Significant Objects have spent months designing their next generation of animal puppets, who will be brought to life performing alongside their human counterparts. A circus experience which is simultaneously a nostalgic throwback and a revolution of the form, Circus 1903 has to be seen to be believed!

Did You Know?

Everyone knows them as tight-rope walkers, but the technical term for those daring acrobats that perilously balance on a taut rope high above the ground is a 'funambulist'!

We were enthralled!

We are Proctor's broadway subscribers and saw this available so we decided to try it. It was spectacularl! All four of us absolutely loved the show and thought it rivaled the quality of the broadway offerings. We actually loved every one of the acts in the show but differed on our favorite parts, the juggler, the contortionist, the bicyclist and of course the elephants. Thanks for bringing it to our area. Only regret I have is not being able to bring my grandchildren who love out of town. Hopefully, we could bring this back soon. ... Read more
