The incredible multi-Tony winner Audra McDonald is finally stepping back on stage in this brand-new production of Jule Styne, Stephen Sondheim, and Arthur Laurent's fable of show business. Directed by George C Wolfe and choreographed by Camille A Brown, Audra's Gypsy will reopen the Majestic Theatre in November 2024, offering Broadway audiences a chance to be bowled over by McDonald as she plays the iconic Momma Rose.

What Is The Story Of Gypsy?

Considered by some critics to be the greatest American musical of all time, Gypsy is a musical fable about the perils of ambition and the trappings of fame. Set in depression-era America, the story follows the indomitable Rose, who forces her daughters into the world of vaudeville. As Rose's children become famous performers, and their act grows increasingly risque, they begin to break free from her influence, leading her to question her approach in dramatic style.
