Why see Here There Are Blueberries?
A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words
Based on a true story, Moises Kaufman and Amanda Gronich's Here There Are Blueberries is a poignant and pivotal Pulitzer Prize Finalist work that examines the banality of evil as seen in images discovered on accident by an archivist at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Next to heart-wrenching photos depicting the horrors of the Holocaust, there are a surprising amount that instead show the perpetrators at play, enjoying picnics and outings with their families, seemingly choosing to ignore the terror happening around them.
A bold and moving play presented by Tectonic Theatre Project, Here There Are Blueberries is both a look at our past and stark warning to the future.
