With the action moved to the present day, enjoy the tale of sizzling passion in a whole new way as Carmen makes her way to the Met Opera House one more time! Isobel Leonard and Aigul Akhmetshinaas the titular femme fatale, alongside Michael Fabiano and Matthew Polenzani as her doomed lover Don Jose.
She might not have been the original femme fatale, but Carmen has sure carved a niche in our consciousness as one of opera's most dangerous women. Stunningly beautiful and wholly aware, her habit of taking and breaking hearts can only lead to trouble for her and her bedazzled targets.
Her short temper brings her to the attention of the kind and charismatic Don Jose, who falls head over heels in love with her. An intense tale of love found and ruthlessly taken, Carmen is an intense and passionate piece, as lust and revenge go hand in hand making for a fiery finale.
