Adaptation of the Pulitzer-winning book
History, heroism and imagination come together in The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, a new adaptation of Michael Chabon's Pulitzer Prizewinning novel of the same name. Brought to the stage by director Bartlett Sher, the cast includes Andrzej Filonczyk making his debut at the Met in the role of Joe Kavalier, alongside Miles Mykkanen as Sam Clay, while composer Mason Bates crafts a boundary-pushing score blending electronic textures with sweeping orchestral themes.
Set on the brink of World War II, the gripping tale follows Jewish cousins Joe Kavalier and Sam Clay as they create an anti-fascist superhero to be the star of their own comic book series, hoping to inspire America to join the fight against the tyranny of the Nazis. Shifting between Nazi-occupied Prague, New York City and the fantastical world of comic-books, it's an unmissable work this season.
