Other Desert Cities
Stockard Channing and Stacy Keach star in this new play by Jon Robin Baitz and directed by Joe Mantello.
Why see Other Desert Cities?
In OTHER DESERT CITIES, Brooke Wyeth returns after an absence of six years to her parents' Palm Springs, California, home for a Christmas visit.
A once-promising novelist, Brooke announces to her family the imminent publication of a memoir she has written about her brother Henry, an anti-war activist during the Vietnam War, who committed suicide after being implicated in a bombing at a military recruiting center.
Lyman and Polly Wyeth, whose memories of their troubled son differ significantly from Brooke's, plead with their daughter not to bring Henry's tragic story to light after 30 years. Baitz' new play is a poignant and sharply drawn portrait of a family simultaneously bound together and torn apart as it struggles to come to grips with a painful past.
