Motown - The Musical

Why see Motown - The Musical?

Don't Miss Motown - Closes July 31!

Motown: The Musical is back in New York! An incredible look back at the music that transformed America, Motown is stuffed to the brim with hits and the stories of music's greatest figures. The show's previous Broadway run ended in January 2015, after which it embarked on a massive North American tour, and sent a production over to the UK to play London's West End. The creators have sharpened the story and trimmed the running time while it's been on the road, and now it's returned, better than ever!

Filled with the back stories of legends such as Stevie Wonder, The Supremes and a whole host of the motor city's favourite stars, and featuring billboard busting classics like 'My Girl', 'ABC, I Heard It Through the Grapevine', 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough' and 'The Tears of a Clown', this jukebox musical is a 24 karat crowd-pleaser about how Motown got us all dancing to the same rhythm!

WHAT IS MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL ABOUT?

Motown: The Musical follows writing impresario and founder of the Motown label, Berry Gordy as he fights against the odds to turn his improbable dream into all singing, all dancing reality. Adapted from Berry's own 1994 autobiography, 'To Be Loved', this is an incredible walk down memory lane, as we see how Smokey got his honey toned voice and how Diana found fame, amongst 50 classic songs that are guaranteed to keep you dancing all night long.

DID YOU KNOW?

Berry Gordy nearly turned down the Jackson Five, because he didn't want to work with kids. It was Gladys Knight who eventually pursuaded him to sign them, a year later!
