As part of the New York Center's 75th Anniversary Season celebrations, Nederlands Dance Theater 2 kicks of their 2019 US tour with a special four-night stint at the historic arts venue. An offshoot of the critically acclaimed Nederlands Dance Theater, the second division was formed in 1978 with a vision to foster young dance talent for the parent company. Having celebrated its own 40th anniversary in 2018, NDT2 has evolved into its own independent division that regularly attracts its own special commissions from renowned choreographers and dance visionaries.
Showcasing two established works and two US premieres, the young company of dancers between the ages of 17 - 23 explore the ephemeral and insignificant moments in between, from an accidental touch to a fleeting glance, all gone too soon. Don't miss the the premiere of NDT associate choreograoher Marco Goecke's alt-rock tinged 'Wir sagen uns Dunkles' and Edward Clug's moving exploration of the personal experiences of dancers 'mutual comfort', performed alongside repertory favorites 'Sad Case' and 'SH-BOOM!' (both by Sol Leon & Paul Lightfoot).
