Why see Pal Joey?

Could you make it big in the Chicago nightclubs?

Pal Joey is being revived on the New York City Center's mainstage! Whilst the play may be based on the original 1940 story by John O'Hara, this iteration has been reimagined by Daniel "Koa" Beaty and Richard LaGravenese. The show stars an original Dreamgirl, Loretta Devine as Lucille Wallas, and Broadway and TV actor Ephraim Sykes as Joey Evans. It is co-directed by Tony Goldwyn and Savion Glover, who also provide the choreography. Opening in November for an extremely limited run, Pal Joey is not to be missed!

What's it about?

Nightclub jazz singer Joey wants to make it big, but he faces struggles as he is asked to change up his act to embody the typically popular sound of the day. Will he remain true to himself, or will he compromise his integrity?
