New Jersey Symphony Orchestra - Holst's The Planets
Zhang has an exceptional ear for balance, as well as the ability to draw the softest, most transparent tones imaginable from the orchestra.

Why see New Jersey Symphony Orchestra - Holst's The Planets?
Interstellar Illumination
Outer space draws ever closer this January as the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra brings the stars down to earth with an evening of extraterrestrial excitement. Kicking off the evening is Caroline Shaw's "The Observatory", a piece inspired by the astronomers and scientists who make the cosmic depths their lives work. Following Shaw's oeuvre is Ralph Vaughan Williams' ever-popular Lark Ascending, and the evening culminates in the grand event of Gustav Hoult's The Planets, a feast for the ears and the eyes as it is accompanied by stunning images from NASA's exploration of the stars. An astronomical affair like no other!
The NJSO's prestigious music director Xian Zhang leads the expedition as the conductor, with internationally lauded violinist Nancy Zhou joining the voyage.
