"Watching Talk House, I had the uncanny sensation that Shawn has turned his theatrical nightmares into our waking reality... Staged with sly humor and creeping perversity by Elliott, Talk House is elliptical, weird stuff."

What begins as a friendly get together of old theater buddies becomes something much more sinister in Wallace Shawn's radical play, which makes its US Premiere at the Pershing Square Signature Center. Leading the cast of this dystopian dark comedy, set in an America where citizens have become state-sponsored assassins, is two-time Tony winner Matthew Broderick (It's Only a Play, The Producers), while Wallace Shawn himself also takes to the stage. A startling work that plays with form and genre, Evening at the Talk House never heads in the direction that you expect.
In celebration of its tenth anniversary, writer Robert invites a group of people involved with his last stage play to meet up at their old haunt, the genteel dining club the Talk House. Their party is interrupted when the bloodied and bruised actor Dick bursts through the door. His appearance kicks off a debate amongst the friends about the America that now exists outside the club's doors - a dystopian state in which ordinary citizens are employed by the government to kill people deemed as dangerous.
As the night wares on, it becomes clear that a number of the people in the Talk House are part of this murderous program. Do they have one of the fellow cast members in their sights?
