An All-Immersive Trainspotting Experience

Based on the critically acclaimed novel by Irvine Welsh, Danny Boyle's no-holds-barred, gutsy portrait of wasted youth and recklessness became a cult-hit classic upon its release in 1996, launching the career of Hollywood heavyweight Ewan McGregor in the process. Now the fully-immersive theatre production based on the Trainspotting feature-film hits New York City for a strictly limited run this Summer, immersing audiences in Irvine's subversive tale of Mark Renton and his friends in 80s Scotland.

Launching straight into the dark humour and gritty poetry of Edinburgh's streets, the audience enters a neon-filled underground rave, where Mark 'Rent-boy' Renton recites his famous 'Choose Life' monologue, extolling the virtues of a life wasted in thrall to capitalist pursuits. Of course, Renton addiction to heroin influences a radically different view of life, one filled with chasing the next high, surreal episodes (including the worst toilet in Scotland scene) and brushes with unsavoury characters. With his mates Sick Boy, Spud and Begbie forever at his side, Renton grapples with his rampant addiction as he tries to make sense of life and love.
